Success Stories

We've had hundreds of adoptions since our inception, but some adoptions are extra special to us. Here are some of our highlights!

Okie Heater

Okie Heater came to us in the winter of 2023 after ending up in a kill pen. He was discarded and seen as a "problem horse," but we didn't give up on him. We found he was suffering from Kissing Spine and had him operated on thanks to your donations. In the summer of 2024 this young man lost his personal horse and was searching for his new best friend. Lynn didn't even consider Okie Heater for him at first, but once he met Okie, it was an instant bond. They have become a wonderful team and have already begun showing together as of September 2024. We wish these two the best of luck in their future endeavors!

Boogie Toogie & Jasiri

These two boys have very different ways they came to us, but they both bonded with and went to a young woman with big dreams. Boogie Toogie was on his way to a kill pen when he came to us, while Jasiri was responsibly retired from the track. Kloe has been a volunteer with us here for several years and has dreams of making it big as a barrel racer! She adopted and trained Boogie Toogie to carry her to this dream and he is now a 2D barrel horse! Shortly after taking Boogie Toogie, Kloe also bonded with Jasiri who is now in training to be a barrel horse, as well. We are overjoyed to see these two boys in a loving home and showing how versatile thoroughbreds can be in the barrel racing world!
